Lots of fun...

So a couple of weeks ago, before I flew to Maryland, the missionaries that I was teaching at the MTC gave me a nice present! They knew that I was planning on proposing to Katie while I was there, so they gave me a proposal survival kit! It was really nice and they had an explanation for each item! I had three sister missionaries in the district and I'm pretty sure that they were the masterminds behind it, but it was really cool and it helped me get through the proposal, haha.

After spending a wonderful week and a half in Maryland, I am now with Katie's family in St. George, Utah. Katie's grandparents have a second home here and so we are spending a couple of days enjoying the 100 + degree weather and going to a musical and a Shakespeare play. The plays were very entertaining and I definitely feel more cultured! On Friday night we saw the musical, The Sound of Music. That is one of my favorites, so I really liked it. But it was outdoors and at 11:30 p.m. when the play ended, I was sweating because it was still so hot. Then tonight we went to Cedar City and saw the Shakespeare play, The Two Gentlemen of Verona. I had never seen it before so I thought it was going to be hard to understand like all the other Shakespearean plays, but it wasn't too bad and I was able to understand it. It was also a lot cooler than last night, so I wasn't sweating the whole time, which helped me to focus. These past couple of days have been very fun and relaxing, especially when we were in the air conditioning!

We're Engaged!!!!!

So the first day started off great with a fishing trip and then it couldn't have ended better! I was showing Katie around Hereford, the town that I grew up in and then we took a walk on a bike trail next to the Gunpowder River. It was really pretty with all the trees around and then I asked her to marry me! She said yes, thank goodness! She is so great and I am so lucky to have her in my life and I'm so excited to marry her! Here are some pictures of the engagement:

Fishin' With My Girl!

Well Katie has arrived! I'm so excited to have her here in Maryland. Our first day started off with a nice fishing trip. I love to fish, but Katie has never gone. So I had to introduce her to this great pastime! Here are some pics of our experience!

Katie was the winner! She caught the only fish and the biggest! Way to go Katie!

Beautiful Ocean City Maryland

We are home! Richard and I came home for about a week and a half to be with our family and to do some fun things. So far it's been pretty exciting! The day that we flew in, I had to go to the doctors to check out a wart that I had gotten frozen off in Provo. It had gotten really infected and the doctor gave me antibiotics through an IV. I happened to be allergic to this antibiotic which caused bumps to appear on my body. So then I had to get a shot of steroids in my butt and a shot of benadryl in my arm. So that was a great time!

Then the next day we left for the beach in Ocean City! We had a great time there as we enjoyed the beautiful weather, the sand, the ocean, the miniature golf and the Boardwalk! Here are some pics:

Within ten minutes of setting our stuff up on the first day at the beach, a wave came and soaked all of our stuff! Mom's cell phone didn't survive.

Just chillin...

Miniature Golfing

More miniature golfing

Mommy and Daddy enjoying a much deserved vacation

Dad working on his architecture skills

The waves weren't too big but they were enough to body surf and use the boogie boards

So that was our little trip to Ocean City Maryland. It was what we all needed! And Katie is coming tomorrow night, so we are gonna have plenty more to blog about! We have a lot of fun things planned!

Sunday Night Tradition

Recently, my roommates and I have started a new Sunday night tradition. My roommate served his mission in England and he brought home a sweet board game called "A really nasty horse racing game." Basically you each have your own horse and you place "bets" on who you think is going to win the race. So if you bet on the winning horse then you can make a lot money. But what makes it "really nasty" is that there are cards that can change the whole pace of the game. With one card you can kick certain horses out of the race or make them go slower. So sometimes it can get pretty intense if someone kicks the horse out that you bet on to win. It is not uncommon to yell and stand on your chair as you play! Come over and play sometime!
